Being Me

Being Me Its tough being a teenage girl; especially me, that’s excruciating. Take some advice – no one can ever fully understand someone so don’t even try to – it’s impossible. As you read this essay beware, not everyone lives with money and happiness handed to them or lives ‘the dream’. Fact 1, Everyone is stereotyped, bound to whatever group everyone else thinks you are, not who you actually are every stereotype hates at least one other. I get stereotyped because of the make-up on my face, nothing else, just how I look. Why? To find another way to make themselves feel better by putting everyone else down. Pathetic, right? I have lost and gained so many people it is unbelievable; one thing I will say though, is no one sticks around. They expect you there for their troubles but when yours it’s completely different, you can handle them on your own, yes of course. I have gained 3 important people though, Heather Gemma and Anya, they may not stick around forever but they are the closest. I am bitter towards friendships because I lost my best friend to her boyfriend, shaped my opinions on almost everything, from friendships to relationships with anyone, a great deal. Looking back on this I would say I handled that poorly, I don’t need to be hasty but I choose to be. Right, let’s take a look into the intricate mind of me. My paranoia ruins all my relationships, including my family and friends, it works me up to the point I get extremely upset to the point I can’t eat or sleep. My paranoia makes me think that if I haven’t spoken to someone in a few days they absolutely hate my guts, it ruins everything for me. Also, my temper has extremely heightened to the point I am constantly ‘nippy’ towards everyone, the smallest things irritate me. If it was possible I would evaporate my paranoia into thin air and get on with my life but when I look back on it I wish I would just grow up, give myself a slap and get on with my life. I am constantly worn out and lacking any enthusiasm in anything. This means my focus on anything, especially school work. Unfortunately I need my grades for a job, college or maybe even university- how good would it be if you didn’t?! It puts your confidence down to know you would need higher A’s to succeed. Oh well, you can only do the best you can? No, not good enough, push the barriers, get the highest grades possible†¦ Yeah right! When I look back on my focus on my grades etc, I actually cannot help it, I wish I could grasp what the teachers tell me but it goes right through me no matter what I try. As many other teenage girl I don’t see, in the mirror, what everyone sees when they look at me. I see a FAT, ugly, scarred girl, looking back at me. To do my make-up in the morning I see a monster gawk back at me. My weight will not change no matter what I do, I cannot change my face, I cannot change my past either; I completely give up now. When people look at me they only see the intimidating yet happy me I ‘want’ them to see†¦ this gives them the impression of no matter what they do I will be as strong as ever, they will never bring me to my knees. I would say I handle this extremely well considering the amount of self criticism I give myself. People can change your attitudes towards almost anything I suppose yes? Correct. One person has influenced my recent attitude adjustments; I cannot sleep anymore, I cannot trust anyone and he makes me extremely short tempered. Now-a-days if anyone just slightly annoys me I have thoughts going through my head of the things I would do to them if possible but luckily enough I manage to keep my temper. I handle my temper better than anything else in my life, I dread to think where I would be if it completely consumed me. I suppose you could say I have never had a proper start in life; I never really saw my parents growing up, I grew up with violence but technically that made me the person I am today; able to defend myself although I just use it to intimidate. Peer pressure also played a part in my growing up†¦ I had no chance growing up as a normal teenager; ‘oh, do this, it’s cool! C’mon, just do it! DO IT, DO IT! ’ In the end you just end up bowing down to peer pressure, then it consumes you with its viscous grip. I wish I had never given into peer pressure, it has supplemented into ruining my life. Of all things that should affect me, death doesn’t. It happens†¦ yes it fills you with great sadness but on the other hand it happens, get over it. It happens to everyone close or near to you. Although I must admit I am lucky enough never to have lost a relative as close such as a parent, sibling, etc. I lost my great aunt Ivory not too long ago but I was at a loss as to why we celebrate the day of someone’s funeral, it just seems wrong. They may possibly be better off dead but people should be looking back in remorse to think they never spent any more time possible with that person†¦ I never spent any more time with my granddad than when my mother took me in. I didn’t understand he was dying but I wish I had requested to pay more time with him. When I think about it all, I handle my life as best as I can, if I lost at least one aspect, maybe my temper, I would be ended, that would appear on my records preventing me from my beloved job I crave. To be honest? I am a cold person who should be messed up more than I already am but who can help anyone? No one because no one can ever fully understand another, it is impossible. I wish I wasn’t so messed up although I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s, because everyone has their flaws.

How can we make India clean Essay

World peace has been developed through the endurance and persistence of several great men throughout history. They have struggled and fought against the social evils and human sufferings in order to materialize the moral values that they carry. Mahatma Gandhi is undeniably one of the most respected, influential men. Without the non-violent movement lead by Gandhi, the independence of India would’ve taken longer with more bloodshed and destruction to the country. Even after his death, his philosophy of non-violence inspired many prominent figures throughout the world. â€Å"Cleanliness is next to godliness†. We can keep our city clean only if the people of our city think like us. Without public cooperation we cannot achieve anything. So first to keep our city clean there should be a huge awareness to the public via various mass media and news papers. Also the government should take major role in conducting awareness programs to public and also introduce new rules if necessary. Only our thinking does not make our city clean. KEEPING OUR CITY CLEAN IS EVERY CITIZEN’S DUTY. FIRST WE SHOULD LOVE OUR COUNTRY. WE SING SONGS PRAISING BHARATH MATHA AND SO ON BUT WE NEVER THINK TWICE TO THROW DIRT ANYWHERE THAT SUITS US. STRICT LAW SHOULD BE ENFORCED LIKE THE ONE IN SINGAPORE WHO LITTER. THIS WAY FINE ALSO CAN BE COLECTED WHICH IN TURN CAN BE USED FOR DEV PURPOSES.IN A DMOCRATIC COUNTRY LIKE OURS PEOPLE TAKE FOR GRANTED EVERYTHING AND IF ONE TRIES TO EDUCATE ABOUT THIS ONE MAY NOT TAKE IT IN THE RIGHT SPIRIT. INFACT THEY FEEL WE ARE TOO INTERFERING. HENCE BETTER TO ENFORCE FINE. Its our du ty to keep our city clean because it represent that which types of people live in that city. For make city clean following steps is important – 1. Educate the people about it. 2. Do not use plastic bag. 3. Do not through garbage in the open area. 4. Grow plants. 5. Use solar energy because it does not produce residue Young student like me must start to do something worth-remembering and that is to keep the world clean and green. I heard a question that is raised, â€Å"how can you do that†? I must say, â€Å"we will work together to start this†. Some points I want to emphasize are the following: First, let’s keep the world clean and green by recycling and cleaning the world. This point includes different kinds of pollution from massive factories and smoking pollution that would kill us because of lung cancer. No tobacco, no pollution. We must clean every sort of pollutions and to protect one another. We are blessed with amazing hospitality awards; we are the best in food. We have every type of culture and customs, we enjoy the secular nature, we say we are the golden bird but still from our roads to our green belts to public bathrooms to our every outer surrounding, we lack perfection, we lack comfort, we lack amenities, we lack beauty and we never feel proud in walking on the streets. We have departments who have the authority of maintaining everything, we have good team of people who can work and give tidy and inviting atmosphere, we have millions of skilled and unskilled labor of agriculture and masonry knowledge but still our surroundings and our outer atmosphere is untidy and shameful. We often hate this, we often complain about this but still nothing is happening. We don’t know what should we do in order to change things as revolting on the streets is not a solution. Many of us have made some private welfare associations of our respective sector and we often collect money as donation and invest it on our surrounding parks and green belt. This attempt is good and encouraging but most of the houses do not contribute in this as they have a debatable point and that is when we are paying taxes then why we have to waste our money on another expense which is the government duty not the private affair. Our broken roads are the black spot on the high rise buildings, our sewage and drainage systems are either semi blocked or completely blocked as there is no maintenance. Roads in monsoon become a dirty lake of sewage waste and water. We are used to this ugly mess. We only take care of the place where  we live. All the government buildings and other constructions like bridges, barricade, pedestrian pathways, public bathrooms and other buildings which are used by government and public are not taken care of as we think its government building so why should we care? Every year millions of unauthorized posters and advertisements ruin the beauty of the buildings made by the government. These unauthorized advertisements have no limit and there is no one to stop the people who do this immature and punishable offence. Even young political leaders and well established political parties enjoy the facility of unauthorized advertising. They are equally responsible in running the architecture and other surroundings. Public bathrooms made by the government are obviously very less in number and there condition is so pathetic that I cannot even show there images to you as they can even make you vomit. There are millions of things which make every Indian feel guilty and the infrastructure and maintenance of this exotic country is at zero scale. The ministers are not concerned in improving the nation and we will again never feel proud in walking on the streets as India will remain untidy. The face of today’s economic and energy situation in the crisis, Hongxing company for the current recovery of the gangue utilization to carry out a series of processing achieved a major breakthrough, research and development to create a large jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, can coal waste rock crusher for processing, and expand the scope of its use, can be used for brick-making, power generation, cement, concrete production, and so can be used by the powder, the powder after milling mechanism, the gangue broken play an important role to deal with the gangue use rate of more than 90%, the real garbage turning waste into treasure. Foundation of Marketing(Consumer and Business Buyer Behaviour) Essay

Foundation of Marketing(Consumer and Business Buyer Behaviour) - Essay Example The third process is complexity which refers to the level of difficulty attached to the understanding and â€Å"use† of the product (Armstrong and Kotler 2011,p. 184). Divisibility which is the fourth process, arises when the product â€Å"can be tried on a limited basis† (Armstrong and Kotler 2011, p. 184). The final process is communicability which refers to the extent to which the results of using a product can be observed and shared with others (Armstrong and Kotler, 2011). Part II: Comments on Mike’s Letter Mike’s letter explaining why and how he decided on a business degree course highlights some of the stages that consumers go through prior to making a purchase. Mike manifested the relative advantage factor, which is the first characteristic influencing consumer purchase decision-making. Mike’s inquiries and searches demonstrate that he was comparing business degrees for relative superiority. The second characteristic, compatibility was very important to Mike. Mike was looking for a product that accommodated his own time table and his commitments to his family and at the same time left him with some free time.

Oral errorr correction for non-native speakers of English Essay

Oral errorr correction for non-native speakers of English - Essay Example Traditionally, errors have been seen as signs of failure in the language learning process (Hedge 2000; Johnson 2008). However, today attitudes towards errors are becoming less negative. The dominating constructive point of view in language learning, emphasizes errors’ role as a part of the language learning process (Bartram and Walton 1991). Already in the late 60s, Corder (1967) notes that errors are a significant part of language learning from two points of view. Firstly, errors give information to teachers about the learners’ language level, including what they have learned and what they still need to practice. Secondly, the nature of errors can enhance both teachers’ and learners’ understanding of the whole language learning process and what kind of knowledge is acquired first and what kind of structures are more difficult to comprehend. This paper will thus help to provide an insight into the role of errors and how they have been treated in language t eaching through decades; the kind of corrective feedback that can take place in English as a foreign language (EFL) classroom; and finally, whether or not corrective feedback has an influence on the development of a learner learning a language. This paper will focus on defining terms concerning errors, corrective feedback and learner uptake. ... Phonological errors are errors in pronunciation, stress, or intonation, grammatical errors to incorrect formulated sentences, phrases or words, and lexical errors refer to errors in word use, phrases or idioms (Chaudron 1986; Allwright and Bailey 1991). In totality, James (1998) explains that errors refer to a deviation of the grammatical accurate rules of a language system. Hendrickson (1978:387), on the other hand, defines error as ‘an utterance, form, or structure that a particular teacher deems unacceptable because of its inappropriate use or its absence in real-life discourse’. According to Allwright and Bailey (1991:85) ‘an error is a form unwanted by the teacher’. In foreign language classrooms, the teacher is able to decide whether or not the students are making errors in oral pronunciation of words and phrases in the language that they are learning. However, errors that are made in the classroom are a result of different causes; Transfer of learners ’ first language such as unfamiliar structures or pronunciation and unfamiliar words can all lead to erroneous utterances (Lyster and Ranta 1997). The definition mentioned previously seems to refer both to an incorrect form of an utterance that a native speaker of the language would not understand or accept as correct language use, and to an incorrect form of an specific utterance or answer that the teacher is looking for (Scrivener 1994). Errors mostly occur when the person learning the language is not able to for correct sentences or structure the use of grammar and phrase composition well. (Scrivener 1994). But despite good chances for a correct guess, the learner ends up doing incorrect hypotheses

Developing a Research Proposal Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Developing a - Research Proposal Example This brings about the question on whether the scholarships offered by these private schools should be reduced or eliminated altogether as a means of reducing the already overwhelming costs that they are faced with. Though this may seem like a harsh action, it may be a necessary move in a bid to reduce the sizable gap that the schools are faced with as a result of unbalanced books, and it may be an effective of ensuring the schools are not faced with the risk of closure. Based on this issue, a research hypothesis can therefore be developed to determine whether the above mentioned action would be an appropriate move by the private school sector. The hypothesis would be, Scholarships offered by private schools play a big role in widening the gap faced by these institutions. Through studying the effect that scholarships have on a private school’s budget, one is able to determine whether their elimination would play a vital part in reducing the deficit that the institutions usually remain with. Literature Review The issue of scholarships can be considered under the basis of a social responsibility that the private school sector has to the community within which they are based. Despite the fact that there is a deficit in the budget of many of the private schools’ budgets that is not covered by the fees that is paid by their students, the amount of money paid out to them is still significantly higher than that paid in public school meaning many individuals are not able to afford it. Scholarships can be regarded as a means of providing gifted children with a means of attaining quality education despite their financial status and thus their elimination cannot be considered lightheartedly. There are various scholarships that exist categorized depending on how they are issued. Some of the more popular ones include sports and academic scholarships with the former being given on the basis of an individual’s athletic ability. Eradicating scholarships for m the private schools’ program may come off as bias as this would mean that only students form financially well off families would be able to afford the education offered by these institutions and would effectively shut out the individuals in lower economic classes. However, the gap that these institutions face cannot be ignored as well as this may lead to an economic downturn that may result in these schools shutting down. Thus, a solution needs to be arrived at that will allow for both the continued existence of scholarships as well as finding effective means of subsidizing the deficit that is faced by the schools. Research Design, Research Method and Sample Selection The research design chosen to deal with this topic should be in accordance to the nature of the study in order to ensure the most accurate results are obtained (Hancke 101). The most appropriate design in this case would be descriptive such as the conduction of a Case study on the matter. This is because of th e nature of a case study that allows one to study a single unit in relation to the perspective in which it is placed in (Hancke 98). The single unit in this case would be the private education system and the context would be the cost of operating that is involved in these institutions. The research method that would be used to conduct the research would be the conduction of interviews as well as the collection of the financial information of the

China and Globalization Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

China and Globalization - Assignment Example United States recent tours in the Middle East were aimed at eliminating tariff and the creation of free trade zones through expansive trade networks agreements (Hao, 13). Additionally, in the globalization age, the two nation’s relations have enabled strong interdependent economic relationships that exist as the debtor-creditor and importer-exporter between China and the United States. These aspects have significantly enabled the two nations to resort and caution to trade diplomacy instead of engaging in military threats and retaliatory competition to resolve differences. On its part, the Chinese government has been on a mission to construct new relationship type with the big powers across the globe (Hao, 13). Currently, Eastern Asia has become a priority for the USA government after the preoccupation with terrorism decade. To date, things have changed especially with China becoming an economic, military and a technological powerhouse after the United States. These aspects are heavily posing various challenges to the U.S government. They are also raising strategic stakes for U.S government (Hao, 13). Additionally, the China government is fielding nuclear forces of the second generation an aspect that can overwhelm the United States of America missile defenses. These aspects can also strike the U.S. Alternatively, the China government is on a mission to develop computer networks and attack satellites, which the United States security and prosperity depend. In doing all these, the United States of America tends to be increasingly vulnerable to attacks from the Eastern Asia (Hao, 17). Both People’s Republic of China and the United States of America government have the wherewithal in maintaining strategic nuclear forces and the development of cyber-war capabilities and anti-satellite abilities. The two nations are eying each other’s motivation, which generally

Discussion About GMO Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Discussion About GMO - Essay Example In fact, it is estimated by analysts that approximately 70% of all processed foods in restaurants and supermarkets are genetically modified. While this technology can aid in crop production, in the agricultural sector, as well as increasing food nutrients, reducing pollution, slowing the ripening process, and creating pharmaceutical products, it should be controlled strictly; it has the ability to create superweeds, induce allergic responses, create genetic pollution, and pose health risks to humans and wild species. Therefore, genetically modified organisms need to be controlled stringently since they have detrimental effects on humans and the environment. GMO Foods are Unsafe GMO’s promote high health risk problems to the consumer. Even though regulation can be done, through research, to make sure they are safe, for some reason, GMOs are not regulated or tested adequately (Somerville, 2010). These tests, primarily, need strict procedures, guidelines, and duration for them to be effective. The real problem has to do with the submission procedure rather than the scientific procedure. This leads to tens of thousands of submissions to government agencies annually for approval to sell the GMOs. Because of the endless information provided to the agencies, the agencies simply go through the submissions and, sans detailed examination, scrutiny, or study, endorse them. The net result of this is that companies like Monsanto keep submitting data and research, and the government keeps approving them. Another problem with systems of safety regulation is the fact that employees at companies and regulatory agencies are the same (Somerville, 2010). For instance, Michael Friedman, who is the former acting commissioner of the FDA, is now senior VP at G.D. Searle & Co., which is a division of Monsanto. Hence, there is inadequate regulation of GMOs, despite their potentially negative impacts on the environment and human health. In addition, genetically modified organisms can lead to allergic responses in various individuals because of allergens found in the organisms. These reactions normally happen when the immune system of humans interprets them as offensive and invasive and react accordingly (Somerville, 2010). While this does not occur often, allergic reactions may be dangerous, in some cases, even fatal. Some studies have indicated that genetically modified organisms provoke reactions of the immune system. For example, rats that are given corn genetically engineered at Monsanto suffer from a significant rise in leukocytes, meaning that they undergo an abnormal activation of their immune system. To add to this experiment, it has also been proven scientifically that soybeans that are genetically modified have more allergens than the wild species (Somerville, 2010). One soy allergen known as Trypsin inhibitor is at levels that are seven times higher than in the wild species. The situation can be worsened if individuals do not know that their aller gic responses are caused by these GMOs after they eat them, which makes it difficult for doctors to diagnose the real cause because the allergens are not easily detectable in GMOs. GMOs are Costly Socio-economically There is an economic imbalance between producers, marketed foods, and large industrial corporations.

Self Report And Reflection Conmmuication Essay Example for Free

Self Report And Reflection Conmmuication Essay Communication in the work place is important between all team members and families when taking care of patients. During the self-report scale assignment, I realized how much communication is important during my everyday job. As an emergency room nurse, you can become very task oriented because things are happening at a very fast pace. These are the times that things can go wrong if we are not careful and question every order. The relationship between the nurse and patient is not the only relationship that needs to be open and honest. All team members involved including the doctors, physician’s assistances, other nurses and ER tech’s need to have the patient’s best interest as their primary goal. Being open, honest and relaxed I find is very helpful when building report with patients and all team members involved. I am constantly learning new things in the ER but I do have areas where I need work. Time management is an area that I struggle with at times. I believe I can prioritize well but I can always do better. Another area I can grow and learn from is making decisions before I have all the information. This question made me think about how I assume what a patients diagnosis is. I make decisions quick but I know that there are times when I need to have more information and facts to be confident in the plan of care. I try my best to build trusting relationships with my patients the moment I introduce myself. I can become frustrated at times with a noncompliant patient and I remind myself not to let my emotions interfere with their care. This is a time where I make sure my body language and tone of my voice are appropriate at the bedside. I have learned so much in the clinical world of nursing but the foundation of it all was in nursing school. I make most of my decisions based on clinical experience but always remember the basics and root of where it came from. I should remind myself of this more because not  all patients are the same. This self-report has opened my eyes to how I am in the workplace, treat my patients and colleges and how make decisions. I learned a lot about myself that I didn’t know by answering the questions truthfully.

Myth Being False and True Simultaneously Essay Example for Free

Myth Being False and True Simultaneously Essay One commonality nearly all past human cultures possess is that they attempted to explain the unknown through fanciful tales of Gods, Goddesses, Spirits or other magical beings that through some manner were able to control the weather and shape the world around them. Amongst these varied tales one particular set of myths stands out as being a common creation in past societies namely that of the birth of the World. It must be noted that nearly every single civilization that has come into being has had a creation myth as the foundation of their culture from which all other preceding myths are based upon. The reason for this is that it is basic human nature to try to question all that is around them and to attempt to answer these questions in whatever way is available. Since at the time of their creation most early civilizations did not quite grasp the scientific truths that we know of today as such they used myths to fill in the gaps so to speak. One problem with this method is that while they at times came close to the answer as to how the world was actually formed most of the time due to the exaggerated nature of some of the myths they were wrong more than they were right. What this paper will seek to do is show how the different creation myths of various cultures simultaneously got the facts wrong and right at the same time. Greek Myth of Creation The more popular aspects of Greek mythology are usually focused on the Olympic Gods and Goddesses and their various in fighting, squabbles and methods of interference with the people of Greek world one aspect that is rarely mentioned is the concept of how the Greeks viewed the creation of the world. Greek mythology states that initially the entire universe was composed of a great black void called chaos that was surrounded by a massive unending stream of water that was supposedly ruled by the ancient god Oceanus. This landscape of an endless stream of water and a great gaping void was said to tbe the domain of the Goddess Eurynome (Hamilton 1969). That in a desire to make order from the chaos she danced on the waves of Oceanus which helped to separate the sky from the sea and she also created the land from which she placed a plethora of creatures to populate it (Hamilton 1969). In some aspects the Greek story of creation did get some parts right when it came to describing the creation of the world. It is true that initially the early Earth was covered by a vast ocean with no landmass present at all and that there was also persistent storms that occurred as a result of erratic weather patterns at the time. It is also true that land masses were formed after the oceans receded and from this came the eventual rise of plant and animal life on the planet. In several aspects the Greek myth of creation was actually right however it is highly doubtful that a Goddess danced on the waves of the early Earth and created the landmasses we have today since there is no evidence to prove such a Goddess existed. Egyptian Myth of Creation Ancient Egyptian mythology states in the beginning there was nothing, that everything was darkness and all that existed was a great body of water named Nun. It was through the power of Nun that a great shinning egg came out of the darkness and this was the great God Re who could take many forms and was powerful enough that if he spoke of name that being or object came into being (El Aswad 2005). It was through Re speaking the names of the Egyptian gods that they came into being and the land, sun, stars and sky came into being. The one aspect that the ancient Egyptians got right was it is true that originally the was nothingness in the world and yes there was a great body of water on Earth during its early years however there has been no evidence to prove that a great shinning sentient egg caused the creation of the sun, sky and land merely by stating their names. Norse Myth of Creation Ancient Norse mythology states that initially there was a great void names Ginnungagap from which came a region of ice named Niflheim in the the North and Muspellsheim a region composed of fire in the south. It was the meeting of these two regions that melted the ice of Niflheim and created the frost giant Ymir who was eventually killed by Odin, Vili and Ve who formed the Earth from his flesh and the heavens from his skull (Columbia 2009). It must be noted that Norse mythology is incredibly fatalistic and is among the most depressing types of mythology to be read. It comes at no surprise that their concept of the creation of the Earth came out of death. All in all similar to ancient Egyptian mythology Nose mythology only got the notion of a formless void correct the parts regarding the formation of the Earth through the dead carcass of a giant is definitely wrong. Judeo- Christian Myth of Creation One of the most well known myths in the world today is the Judeo Christian myth of how the world was created by God in seven days. It must be noted that while it is true that this particular myth was the result of the early Judaic religion of attempting to interpret the creation of the world through God it is the time frame itself that is wrong (Mclaren 2006). While it may be true that there is a one true God the creation of world has been proven to have been the result of a process billions of years in the making. The myth did get several parts right though. The initial events of the creation of light could be stated as the start of the big bang, after which the creation of the starts, seas and landmass on Earth all follow a prescribed and accurate order as to how things were created in a step by step process. The creation of man though is something to be contended with since according to fossil records and Darwins theory of evolution man originated from apes and not from the ground. Aztec Myth of Creation The Aztec myth of creation is based upon the actions of Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca who looked down from their place in the sky and saw only water below. They attempted to create a mass of land on the water however a gigantic goddess that was floating on the water ate everything they made with her many mouths (Hofstadter 2005). As a result the two gods transformed themselves into giant snakes and tore her in two with her head and shoulders becoming the Earth and the lower part of her body the sky. From the hair of the goddess came the plants of the Earth, from her eyes and mouth the waters of the Earth and from her nose and shoulders the mountains, hills and valleys (Hofstadter 2005). The Aztec myth of creation is similar to that of the Norse myth of creation which states that the Earth was born from the decapitated body of a giant being. One problem with the Aztec myth of creation is that besides the point indicating that there was a giant body of water in the beginning of the Earths creation which is true the rest of the myth is highly inaccurate when considering the facts that are known today. For one thing, similar to this papers reaction to Norse mythology, the Earth was most certainly not created from the decapitated body of a giant goddess rather it was formed through the interaction of volcanic activity and receding oceans. Incan Myth of Creation The Incan myth of creation states that the Earth was originally covered in darkness and that from the lake Collasuyu emerged the Incan god Con Tiqui Viracocha who brought humans with him. When he emerged Con Tiqui brought forth the sun and stars and fashioned more humans from giant rocks that he found nearby (Feld 2000). When interpreting the Incan myth of creation it become obvious that while the Incans were aware of the concept of darkness covering the Earth it becomes clear that that myth assumes that when humans arrived on Earth everything was already formed and that all it needed was light in the form of the sun and stars. The Incan myth of creation is different from the other myths presented in this paper due to the fact that it states that there was no need for land and water to separate because everything was already arranged in the beginning. Besides the account of darkness covering the Earth most of the Incan myth of creation is highly inaccurate and is not an accurate account of what creation of the Earth was like.
